I started writing this blog in 2007. Bottpower was not a company yet, at that time it just was my hobby. During some years, besides writing about Bottpower projects, I used to write also about other motorbike related subjects that I found interesting: other bikes, movies or documentaries, books, technology, races, etc. Once Bottpower became a company I stopped writing about those subjects and the posts were focused o
These renders show what will probably be the final design of our new cafe racer, although we are also working on other variations of this design that we will show in following posts, with the intention of knowing which is your favorite one. Please click on the images to see in full size. We are also designing some special parts, like a “cupolino” and another version which keeps the two headlights and the
Italian builder Otto di Cuori, just released their last project in the Verona show. It is a really cool bike built around a Buell engine and a Bottpower XR1 frame. We want to congratulate them for their bike, very original, in which they used the frame as oil tank. It makes us very happy to see that other motorbike builders find in our BOTT XR1 frame an interesting base to build up their projects!
Just a brief post to show you part of the work we did during this week. The construction of 3 BOTT XR1 frames that form part of 3 kits. One will go to UK, another one to France and the last one to Costa Rica. In next picture, the chassis on the right side is already finished and ready for powder coating. The one on the left is almost finished, we still must weld the shock brackets. The third one in the middle is just
When we start working on the design and building of a commissioned bike, as is the case with our Cafe Racer (by the moment we name it BOTT XC1), once we have clear what kind of bike we want to build, next step is to choose which components we are going to use. Both things, the kind of bike and the components, are defined after many chats with our customer and sometimes after trying several options on the computer. On
Well, 2014 is already here! During this year we want to concentrate in developing some options for the XR1, and in creating some very special versions of this bike. We also will work on going to market with this project and in looking for Bottpower dealers in other countries. In adition to it, we are going to create a cafe racer (by the moment we will name it XC1). Most of the parts will be the same for both bikes (X
The day we tested the XR1 for the very first time, in Albaida track, we were fortunate to have with us Kristina Fender, freelance photographer who came to shoot for Sideburn magazine. Of course the magazine had the priority for publishing the pictures, but after a reasonable time, now we can publish some of the pictures that didn’t appear on their article. This is one of our favourite ones. Alex’s elbow i
Motogadget is a German manufacturer of displays and other motorcycle accesories. In our BOTT XR1 we use their Chronoclassic model. For the Morlaco we wanted a very small and light display. Motogadget wanted to support our project and they provided us with a Motoscope Pro unit, which fits exactly with what we were looking for. It also has a very high quality finishing. In our renders we added a shift light, but later
