First 3D scanning job.

You already know that we have a technological partner called Incomet that will work with us making 3D scanning jobs. We signed the contract less than one month ago and we already have here the first result of this collaboration. I want to thank them for the quality and the speed of their work.

As a first task we thought about scanning a Kawasaki ZX6 chassis. In this way we can compare our own designed chassis with the scanned one, which can be used as a reference in order to try to achieve a more compact and ergonomic design.

Of course if we find it interesting we can also use it to obtain geometry data of the Kawa, and even working a little bit more with the CAD data we could create a FEA model to study the chassis stiffness.. although for this job we have another more effective possibilities like our tool for chassis stiffness measuring, which is already built and that I will show you soon

Of course when I proposed to the Incomet guys to scan the Kawa chassis, I still didn’t know that finally the CEV Moto2 were going to use a Honda engine, otherwise I would have searched for a CBR chassis. Anyway this Kawa chassis CAD is a very interesting information that for sure will be very useful for us.

You will find higher resolution images in our Flickr gallery.
